30x30 {fashion challenge} week 1

On day 1 of this challenge I still wasn't convinced I was going to pull this off so I didn't bother taking a photo.  Eventually I will put that outfit back on and snap a photo.  Thankfully I have a wonderful supporting husband who has been mostly willing to help me out with some of these photos.  This week, we're on vacation so I'm sure there will be tons of great photos for week 2...if I actually bother to put real clothes on and not just a swimsuit.  I did have a little trouble packing for vacation using only these 30, especially after I found some spring clothes that I had forgotten about while searching for my swimsuit cover-ups!  I decided that my swimsuit cover-ups/beach attire don't count for this project.

OK, so on to week 1!  Day 1, I didn't take a photo, day 2 I used my emergency back up jeans & t-shirt outfit & day 3 I cheated!  Can you say FAIL-SAUCE?!?  By day 4 I finally had it figured out!

Day 1
I wore my coral/pink jeans and the black and white striped 3/4 length sleeve top...but I didn't take a photo.

Day 2
I wanted to dress up on day 2 but I had good reasons not to...
I spent the day hauling cardboard to the recycle center and lifting attempting to assist standing by while some guys loaded a keg into my car, among other things to get ready for our post command "freedom party"!

Day 3
This was a very special/important day for my husband and I.  We attended a ceremony and celebrated a very successful 18 months and 10 days of company command.  For an Army officer, company command is one of the most significant stages in your career and my husband did such a superb job, I could not be more proud of him!  I know he loves when I wear heels so for his special day, I cheated and wore heels that weren't part of my original 30 pieces.
Here we are with our friends, Matt and Deanna, the incoming command team.  It was great to pass the HHC USARJ baton onto a couple that we adore.  There will be a full post on this day coming up soon!

Day 4
We had a backyard BBQ for the 2nd day in a row to finish off that keg we purchased.  Nothing says spring back yard BBQ like a maxi dress!  (I know you love my government housing backdrop)

Day 5
Church, lunch and shopping with Camp Zama bestie.  I never would have matched these items together before but I absolutely loved this outfit!
With my melon cardigan at the mall.

Day 6
This was just a typical day for me.  I'm so glad I added these pieces at the last minute, I loved this outfit also!

It's only the end of week 1 and I already know I want to add some more patterns to my life.  My clothes are terribly boring and SOLID!  Stripes and polka dots are about as much pattern as I can normally tolerate but I really want to branch out.

Be sure to stop by Mrs. in Training and check out all the other ladies who are participating!

See you all next week for the week 2 recap!
